In a remarkable example of global fellowship driving local change, Tumkur Round Table 173 (India) and Netherlands Table 173 have jointly built a new primary school at Government Primary School, Upparahalli, Tumkur. With a contribution of ₹17 lakh, the initiative transformed an aging structure into a bright, well-ventilated, and child-friendly learning space with improved sanitation and facilities.
The project supports Round Table India’s Freedom Through Education (FTE) initiative, which aims to empower underprivileged children through access to quality education. What began as a bond over a shared table number evolved into a purposeful partnership guided by the Round Table motto — Adopt, Adapt, Improve. At the inauguration, representatives from both countries, local dignitaries, and students celebrated the milestone in a spirit of unity and fellowship.
